As the Group Managing Director of KTP, YEO Choon Chong has strong leadership skills and proven track record is displayed in the design and execution of multi-disciplinary complex projects. He is also the Deputy CEO of Surbana Jurong’s Urban Development 1 after the merger. He has almost 30 years of experience in both domestic and international project management, infra master planning and Architectural/Engineering consultancy business.

He started his career as a Graduate Engineer from Ove Arup, London in 1987. He subsequently transferred to Singapore after attaining his IStructE and Chartered Engineer in 1991. Mr Yeo continued to develop his engineering career with Arup Singapore, and was tasked to lead his team in the design and execution of a Golf course as well as a state-of-the-art flight catering centre.

He joined Meinhardt in 1994 as Technical Director, and in less than twelve months he was promoted to Board Director. In his 15 years career with Meinhardt, his portfolio expanded from being a Team Leader to Director in-charge of Singapore and overseas operations. Mr Yeo was promoted to Meinhardt Asia board in 2001. During the Middle East construction boom, Mr Yeo was involved in the construction of more than 25 million sq ft development in the span of 6 years. The mega projects just to name a few include The Dubai Mall, Festival city, Capital Plaza, Pearl Qatar.

In 2010, Mr Yeo was given the opportunity to be the shareholder and Managing Director to lead a well established local C&S consultancy firm, M/s KTP Consultants Pte Ltd. Mr Yeo brought along valuable experience on some of the largest and complex infrastructure, and building projects in the region to this new venture. Within the span of five years, the firm has grown from 60 staff to more than 300, and has also established five overseas offices. Mr Yeo also participates actively with professional/ government agencies like IES, BOA and BCA. He received numerous Buildability and DESEA (Design & Engineering Safety Excellence Award) awards from BCA. This prestigious award recognises Engineers for their ingenious design processes, and solutions in overcoming project challenges to ensure safety in design, construction and maintenance of building projects.

In 2016, Mr Yeo seized the opportunity in taking KTP to greater heights by being part of Surbana Jurong family. His portfolio has since expanded to include architectural, engineering and QS services for the built environment and the healthcare sector.
